My name is Michael and I’m a freelance marketer and digital marketer. In my spare time, I play drums with a steel band group in the GTA area. In September 2010, we made our second CD and we wanted to promote it so people at our gig can buy our CDs and hear our music. It was also a good way for us to give out our CDs and contact information to people who wanted to hire us to perform at one of their functions. We decided to market our new CD by having a CD launch event where we could invite people who have previously heard us play and friends of our. We sent emails to our contacts and spread the word of the event through word-of -mouth to get people to attend. The event brought in over 70 people to attend, and we sold 80% of our CDs that day.

After planning the CD Launch event, I took some classes to further my marketing knowledge and learn new, innovated way to market a idea. I have a graduate certificate in event marketing and a certificate in digital marketing. My education and work experience has allowed me to develop rapport with clients to understand their needs, execute marketing campaigns to gain awareness and create special events that leaves a rewarding experience for everyone.
